Prevent susceptible generators from the risk of stagnant fuel!

Fuel contamination and stagnated fuel are one of the biggest threats to emergency generators. As the fuel in back-up generators is only called upon in an emergency and can therefore be sat for months or even years, it can become stagnated and put at risk the critical power supply. The main reason for this is that when fuel is left unused for long periods, the water is left to settle, and the “diesel bugs” are left to grow, generating a nasty sludge that can easily block filters, fuel lines and cause a complete system failure.

A fuel maintenance programme needs to be implemented to prevent this and ensure that fuel in the back up generator is regularly turned over and filtered. Our Fuel Recirculation Unit is designed to do just this by turning over 1.5 times the tank capacity every 28 days and not allowing the “diesel bugs” in your fuel to fester.
